In the frame of the European Cooperation Day, Municipality of Orestiada, Project Beneficiary of SYNERGIA project, is organising the first Greek-Bulgarian Amateur Theater Festival, on Friday 7 October 2022, at 10.00 am, at Dionysos theater in Orestiada.
At the festival, from the Bulgarian side, a video of the theatrical performance “5BG Muffins” of the Studio Stoycho Mazgalov at center “Bratolyubie 1984” will be presented. The performance consists of 5 mini scenes presenting the difficulties and the worries modern young people face in their daily life.
From the Greek side, the play “The Bridegrooms of Eutychia” will be presented by the Theatrical Workshop of New Orestiada “Dionysos”. The play is a theatrical transfer of a classic greek comedy movie with the same title.
Plot: Vangelis is a traditional Cretan family guy who has been engaged to Lina for 8 years. However, he cannot marry her since according to the tradition his older and eccentric sister Eutychia has to get married first. But who will be the “hero” who will agree to marry Eutychia? In search of the right groom for Eutychia, Vangelis ends up with a candidate named Kleomenis who is on the brink of destruction, hit by the financial crisis, and is probably the only one who could make the sacrifice. And while the matchmaking seems to have gotten its way, Kleomenis falls in love with the niece of the family, whereas a second candidate, named Koulis, appears, who claims Eutychia considering that she will inherit 120.000 pounds.
