Tui-Valença Eurocity will celebrate the European Cooperation Day by presenting its 2030 cross-border strategy and its Shared Services Platform. Also, the event will seek new ways promote cooperation amongst its citizens.
In the context of the Unicidade project, the event its an opportunity to show the project’s results on these last 4 years and, also, a platform fot future actions to be discussed.
Tui-Valença Eurocity is located on both sides of the River Miño, between the North of Portugal and Galicia. It has more than 31 thousand inhabitants and 169 square km. It is the result of the merging of 2 historic cities full of life. Its 2 international bridges unite both cities and allow a continuity that is both physical and emotional.
Among the project’a main actions are the creation of the Eurocity Desk – that concentrates all relevant information for citizens- and the development of the Eurocity Strategic Agenda 2019-2021. Finally, the elaboration of Future of the Eurocity 2030 study, a tool that aims to explore more and better means of territorial cooperation.
These actions aim to build a Eurocity that can be an example of cooperation in the Iberian Peninsula and in Europe, affirming a new model of European citizenship.
The Unicidade project gets support by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Interreg Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020 Programme.
