On September 21, 2022, we celebrate the European Cooperation Day with an emphasis on the European Year of Youth. It is planned to hold a live event on the territory of the Vitosha Nature Park, in the outdoor classroom situated between the villages of Bosnek and Chuipetlovo, created under project CB007.2.32.151 “Environmental education – a bridge for sustainable development of the cross border region”. Representatives of Vitosha Nature Park will give an open lesson on an ecological topic and the human influence on the environment will reveal the importance and peculiarities of the Bosnek Karst and will tell about the cave wealth in the area, represented by the longest cave in Bulgaria – Duhlata.
The event will be preceded by a thematic photo competition on Facebook for youth from the cross-border region aged 15-29 years. The main goal of the competition is to give young people from Bulgaria and Serbia the opportunity to share their experiences in nature. Through photographs, the participants will spread a message to the public about nature as an alternative place for environmentally conscious recreation. Information about the photo competition will be popularized among schools and universities from Bulgaria and Serbia – beneficiaries under the Program. The authors of the three photos with the most reactions on Facebook will be rewarded with useful advertising materials provided by Interact.
The event is open to all interested parties and will be promoted in mountaineering groups on social media as a priority. The awarded photos from the photo competition and information about the event will be collected in an electronic brochure, for distribution on social media and the Program website.
