The European Cooperation Day shows how cross-border cooperation improves the lives of thousands of EU citizens and neighboring countries in many dimensions, such as transport, health and employment. It illustrates the impact that Cooperation Programs have on their territories to reduce disparities between countries and specific regions. In September, many events are organized in various regions of Europe to celebrate the benefits of year-round cooperation: film festivals, concerts, runs, local fairs and others.
This year, special attention is paid to young people, due to the Year of Young People announced by the European Commission. Many attractions are dedicated to them in order to raise young people’s awareness of the opportunities available to them, as well as to unite Europeans regardless of their generation.
